Hey,
Currently aboard the ferry to Victoria – they have free Wifi everywhere these days. We narrowly got on, being the last vehicle allowed to board. The sun has just begun to shine again after a rainy couple of days in Vancouver. The back deck is offering some pretty stunning views of the surrounding islands and ginormous diving seaguls. We’ve been keeping an eye out for a pack of Orcas, but no joy yet. Apparently they don’t like coming too close to these big ships. On the way to the port, however, we spotted a bald eagle. Another one to check off the list.
Last night was a fun, rowdy, and successful night in Vancouver at the Railway Club. Jasper Sloan Yip and The Never Surprise were both great acts to play between. We spent the night again at James and Jenny’s, and were awoken this morning by a call from CBC Kelowna, who interviewed Dan about the tour and the steady incline of crow populations across the western provinces. These birds are quite successful. While we were parked in line to board the ferry, we saw one jumping around the back of a crab fisherman’s truck, picking at his traps.
Tonight we play Lucky Bar with The Oh Wells and Warbuck. We’re all looking forward to our first visit to the island and we’ll get back shortly about the upcoming few days.
TaTa!
