First off, apologies to all for an extended leave since our last post. We’ve been away from interenet for most of the last few days. Thanks to all of you who attended and tuned into our show at the Streaming Cafe in Kelowna. It was a very enjoyable evening and a nice way for us to bring the western leg of our tour to a close. Some video clips will be available shortly.
After the show, we went down through the Okanogan and spent the night in Osoyoos. Rising to the songs of the many swallows in this beautiful area which unbeknownst to many is actually considered to be a desert, was a real treat.
We passed down into Washington State where some friendly border guards were more accomodating than anything, and set off east across the vast moutain ranges and plains.
To recap on the last few days, we’ve covered a lot of ground and come across a number of different birds. However, we seem to have misplaced our two birding guides, so we’ve been relying more on instinct…which we must say has developed to a mature level at this stage in the game. Aside from the birdwatching, we treated ourselves to the first pizza dinner of the tour, visited Deadwood and stopped by Mount Rushmore for a short glimpse before the park turned the lights off on us.
We’ve been racing the clock which keeps pushing itself forward an hour, with all efforts set on making it to Toronto for our NXNE show tomorrow (Wednesday) evening at The Central. We seem to be in pretty good shape as we’re spending our Tuesday night at a motel just east of Chicago, before we head out again tomorrow morning.
We’ve got a few things on the go over the next few days, but we are all looking forward to a short break before heading out east. Much to come, stay tuned!
